first, I can’t say enough good things about the oxford
trunk. every piece (and i mean every piece!) i’ve ever received has fit
perfectly, is in excellent condition and arrives in the blink of an eye. i can
appreciate when a business is on top of their shipping. i recently got this
jacket from there and I’m in love. i sized up so that the shoulders would be
roomy (and I’m sure glad i did because it’s a perfect fit). because i live in
jackets almost the entire year (thanks to the lovely pacific north west… no
complaints just want to make it known where i live for those that don’t know…)
i’m always looking for jackets/coats that are both warm and stylish.
now to the birks…
lately my clothing choices haven’t made much sense…. and if
you follow along my instagram feed you will probably notice that I tend to
describe my style as “all love the place,” eclectic and totally “in the mood” i
wear what I’m in the mood for and don’t typically dress for the “occasion.” If
I wake up and want to wear jeans and sandals and a T… well i just do and when i
leave the house and realize its 30 degrees i just throw on the first jacket
that sounds like a good idea and a hat or something to “kind” of keep me warm
and call it a go/MAJOR WIN! my outfits don’t always match and i don’t (usually)
care. i tend to look at photos and think what the heck was i thinking.. but
I’ve always been this way and it’s just who iam. so once again i decided to
wear sandals on a day it rained in seattle. not the smartest choice and it
might be why I have a terrible cough coming on again but it is what it is! i
tell myself… i can’t be the only one who does this and that somehow makes me
feel better about my clothing choices.
bits about my day: the morning arrived too quickly (like it
often does) but i timed my bus perfectly and even got to sit beside john on the
way (we usually don’t ride the same bus because he goes to work before me like
a good employee and i roll in at the very last minute, never late just right on
time). the coffee line at starbucks was so long and took forever but my coffee
was magic (like it always is). i got to eat an entire bowl of meat balls
#thanksgoodnessforleftovers for lunch. they almost put me to sleep but it was worth
it. work went by pretty quickly…. the view from my desk at 4:10pm was magical
(yes I remember the exact time of the day because I thought to myself wow it
feels late but its not dark yet…. these long dark days have been hard for me)
but today at 4:10pm it wasn’t pitch black outside. the sky was blue and the
buildings looked warm (if that’s even a thing) like my very favorite filter on
vsco…. it was really beautiful and on moments like that i’m reminded why i’ll
never move away from washington! the view from my desk at work is really
beautiful and I feel blessed about that. today i also sipped on sparkling water
mixed with apple juice (its almost been a favorite drink of mine for a long
time…) try it if you haven’t before! during the quiet moments at work i day
dreamed about travels. john and I have amazing travel plans for the next 5
years. i started to map it out because i got too excited… i’m always too
excited when i think about all the trips we will now be able to take…. (8
states, 5 continents and i lost track of the countries….yup! that explains why
i’m so excited) nothing too crazy happened today, it was a pretty normal and
calm tuesday but i love typical days. even the typical, normal, what seem like
non-eventful days are special to me. life all by itself is an amazing thing!
come back tomorrow…. i’ll be sharing a post with james
